Courses and Events
Parenting
Every parent knows that bringing up children is both a tremendous privilege and a big challenge - we're often left thinking, "how on earth am I supposed to do this?!" As a church we are committed to supporting and encouraging parents as best we can. We believe that God has not left us without help in raising our kids. Far from it, we believe that the Bible is packed full of wise, insightful, and relevant teaching which is able to support and encourage us all in this task. As well as through the regular teaching ministry of the church we aim to put on specific events for parents over the course of the year.

Marriage
Marriage does not always get a good press, sometimes with good reason. Often the joy of the wedding day turns into the pain of a difficult relationship. We believe that marriage is a good gift from God for both our benefit and that of society as a whole. As a church we are keen to support those who are either contemplating marriage or who are already married. We long to encourage one another to develop strong and healthy relationships. As well as preparing those who are engaged for marriage, we are hoping to develop a course for those who are already married.

Movie Club
Once every two months we gather together to watch a movie over drinks and nibbles on a big screen in the church building. We then spend twenty minutes or so discussing it. We find that this is both enjoyable and a helpful way to engage with our culture as Christians.

Evangelistic Events
Throughout the year we put on various evangelistic events. Our ever popular wine tasting evenings are now a fixture in the calender. Tim Doyle, wine expert, shares his passion for wine and advises us on tasting, buying and drinking. Each evening includes a short talk as a way of introducing guests to the Christian faith. Watch out too for our forthcoming pub quiz! Suggestions of other events that we could run are most welcome!

Weekends Away
Every autumn we go away as a church family for a weekend to Denham Grove, a stunning venue in Buckinghamshire. The weekend provides a terrific opportunity to enjoy each other's company, be stimulated by some excellent teaching and, of course, relax! We also run a full programme, packed full of fun and interest, for children and youth. Our next Church Family Weekend Away is from 30 September - 2 October 2011.

Apprenticeship Scheme
The apprenticeship scheme is an opportunity for men and women to gain experience of full-time "paid" gospel ministry. An apprenticeship will normally last for two years and aims to develop the apprentice's knowledge of Scripture, godliness of character and skills in ministry. Each apprentice will have a mentor and will gain experience in many different aspects of church life. The scheme is part of the national 9:38 initiative to encourage ministry training.

Heroes Holiday Club
Every year for a week around easter, we run the Heroes Holiday Club for children in Reception up to Year 6. It is held every day from 10am - 12.30pm. The Heroes Holiday Club is a frantic mix of Bible stories, games, crafts, drama, quizzes and challenges. And just because we're in the world of comic book heroes doesn't mean there won't be something for the adults on the final Sunday! The final instalment of Holiday Club will take place during our normal Sunday service and is followed by coffee and cakes for parents and children.
